Our History
Foundation & Calling (1992)
His Grace Nursery and Primary School later renamed as His Grace Group Of Schools Idere, was born out of obedience to God’s leading and a deep burden for raising children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord. On September 13, 1992, what began as a simple act of faith became a lasting institution dedicated to Christian education, character formation, and academic excellence.
Vision of the Founders
With heartfelt conviction, the founders, who are Christian Missionaries, Timothy and Moyofoluwa Kolapo envisioned a school where children would be trained not only academically but also spiritually grounded in biblical truth and prepared to impact their world. Publicity was carried out through handbills shared within the local community, inviting families to become part of this God-inspired vision.
Humble Beginnings & Early Growth
The school opened its doors with just nine pupils in its first term. By the end of the academic session, enrollment had grown to twenty-four pupils, a clear sign of trust from parents and God’s blessing upon the work. Classes were first held at the town library, where the school remained for three formative years before moving into a rented apartment to accommodate growth.
Sacrifice & Expansion
Remarkably, the school was launched with a humble sum of ₦700, which was faithfully invested in textbooks and basic teaching aids for teachers. A year later, desks and chairs were constructed for the pupils, each step forward a testimony of perseverance, sacrifice, and divine provision.
After nine years of consistent growth and commitment, Grace Premier Comprehensive School celebrated a major milestone as its first set of pupils graduated from primary school, gaining admission into reputable secondary schools of their choice. This success paved the way for the establishment of the secondary school in 2003, located at the Academy’s permanent site, further solidifying its mission and long-term vision.
Present Impact & Legacy
Today, Grace Premier Comprehensive School stands as a living testimony to God’s faithfulness and the power of committed Christian education. Over the years, the school has produced graduates who are excelling both within Nigeria and abroad, making meaningful contributions in fields such as education, medicine, engineering, ministry, business, and the arts. Our students have consistently recorded outstanding results in state and external examinations, with a strong presence of A grades, reflecting academic rigor and excellence. These achievements are the direct result of the dedication, sacrifice, and spiritual commitment of our teachers, who invest not only knowledge but also character into every child. From its humble beginnings, the Academy continues to grow as a center of excellence, shaping future leaders, influencing communities, and inviting families and partners to be part of a lasting legacy built on faith, integrity, and excellence.
